What does "whitening" or "brightening" mean in Korean skincare?
You might have seen Korean skincare products with a label such as "whitening" or "brightening". Most of the products with this label are sun cream or sheet masks. You would think the product will bleach your skin even more white. But fortunately, that is not in case.
In this context, whitening is synonymous with brightening. And brightening means it can help fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and other forms of darkness on the skin, but they won't bleach your natural skin tone. Instead, they will help you achieve a more even skin tone and texture.
